Why a Foundation for Clovis Schools?
Clovis Unified School District is a place where families want to bring their children. The District is growing by between 600 and 800 students per year, which is equivalent to one very large elementary school. With this high rate of growth, the District is opening on average one school per year to avoid overcrowding. Available resources to fill these schools and classrooms with equipment and supplies do not fill the many needs. The Foundation for Clovis Schools is here to fill the gaps.
Our Schools are Doing More with Less
You may not realize it, but Clovis Unified receives approximately $930 less per child than most other school districts in Fresno County. If you multiply this by the Average Daily Attendance (ADA) for 37,000 students, it means our schools would receive an additional $32 million if revenue was equal.
How You Can Help Our Schools
Our teachers and administrators have asked the Foundation to help with specific needs for which there is no other funding available. In response, the Foundation has committed to asking community members like you to help provide funding for:
- Innovative classroom projects that stimulate and encourage students.
- Scholarships for students who have overcome adversity.
- Materials for new teachers so they can provide quality instruction their first year.
- Books to fill empty libraries at new schools.
Providing a quality education for all of our students is an important investment. The young people in our schools are our future business owners, police officers, teachers and neighbors. Please consider making a generous gift that will help us provide the best education possible for every child.
