Located in the heart of California’s San Joaquin Valley, Clovis Unified School District is one of the state’s premier K-12 school systems. Clovis Unified’s more than 42,000 students come from not only the City of Clovis, but the City of Fresno, the rural community of Friant and unincorporated areas of Fresno County. Spanning close to 198 square miles, the district encompasses much of the region’s high growth areas. Since the mid-1980s, the district has grown by more than 27,000 students, and is growing at a current rate of approximately 600 students per year. High quality schools continue to be ranked as one of the top reasons families move to our area according to studies conducted by local government.
The Governing Board of the Clovis Unified School District invites visionary, highly qualified educators with proven leadership skills to apply for the position of Superintendent in this truly superior school district. The Superintendent provides the overall leadership for curriculum and instruction, standards and assessment, finance, budgeting, personnel and school facilities.
Thank you to everyone who submitted comments to the Governing Board related to the qualities and characteristics hoped for in Clovis Unified’s next Superintendent. These comments, along with feedback gathered from focus groups of community members and employees are being closely reviewed as the search process continues during the month of May.
