Supplemental Services

The Supplemental Services Department's basic function is to assist schools with the implementation of all state and federal categorical programs. We partner with schools and parent committees to ensure that all students reach their fullest potential and increase student achievement for all Clovis Kids!

The Department of Supplemental Services is responsible for many activities including but not limited to:
  1. State and Federal Programs
  2. Categorical Services
  3. Multilingual English Learner Program
  4. Title VI
  5. Migrant Services
  6. Translation Services
  7. Private Schools
  8. Parent and Community Outreach

Additionally, the Department of Supplemental Services guides school sites on the rules and regulations of a variety of parent committees such as SSC and ELAC and also houses the State Compensatory Education District Advisory Committee. The Department assists in monitoring the most recent reauthorization of ESSA.  The Department assists in developing The Local Education Agency Plan which outlines the coordination of Clovis Unified School District educational plan for students.

The goal of Supplemental Services is to create and maintain the best educational environment possible. Schools can accomplish this with your support and input. To learn more about categorical programs you may want to become involved in your school's Site Council (SSC), English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC) and/or attend the Annual Title I Parent Meeting. During the fall each school will send home information about these activities. We look forward to your involvement.

The California Department of Education offers additional information at the CDE Web Site. You will also find links that will provide a variety of information on ESSA, Categorical Funding, and other related issues.

If you have any questions, concerns, or would like to become more involved in the educational process at your school, please contact your school principal, GIS, or our department.
