Scoring “Standard Met” or “Standard Exceeded” on the ELA portion of the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) in grade 11.

An Advanced Placement (AP) examination with a score of 3 or higher in the target World Language.

Successful completion of the equivalent of a four-year high school course of study in a language other than English and attaining an overall grade point average of a 3.0 or above in that course of study. This could include course work completed at a community college.

A Score of 600 or better on a SAT Subject matter test in a language other than English if taken prior to the College Board discontinuing this assessment

Passage of a district test with a score of proficient or higher if no AP test is available (currently for Hmong only)

Student must demonstrate English proficiency on the English Language Proficiency Assessments for California (ELPAC) or other state English language proficiency assessment.
