The Kids In Transition (K.I.T.) Program's purpose is to support students' academic progression for those who are experiencing homelessness as defined by McKinney-Vento federal law.
Eligibility
Students that lack fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence may qualify for the KIT Program. Housing situations may include the following:
Registration
When school site personnel become aware that a student is facing housing challenges through the new student enrollment/registration process, attendance intervention meeting, school psychologist, transition team contact, residency investigation, community partners, or self-disclosure; the school site refers the student and their family to Student Services and School Attendance to meet with the Intervention Consultant. Students, parents, and school sites should call (559) 327-9217 to make an appointment.
