Today’s video message from Superintendent Eimear O’Farrell, Ed.D. can be seen here:

While it may feel like many elements of every day life have slowed down, there’s a lot going on in Clovis Unified to deliver meal service and distance learning to our kids.  Yesterday, our print shop made just under 900,000 copies of lessons and study pages for teachers to distribute to parents, and more than 230,000 emails were sent out to families as our educational team launched distance learning for our students.
As those numbers indicate, you are hearing a lot from us!  Moving forward, district email updates will be sent only if any of our essential services are modified or changed, but continue watching for emails from your classroom teachers and schools.

Our team is keeping learning going and know they are here… even if virtually…. for your kids.  In the coming days, we also thought you might like to hear from our team of school psychologists to answer some of the questions that you’ve submitted through our portal.  Keep your questions coming so we can help you, help our kids to stay focused, build routines and alleviate anxiety.  You can also check out our up-to-date frequently asked questions and answers

Until you hear from us again, please keep the following in mind:
Watch our website next week and look for the link called “Together, We’ve Got This!” to submit questions and view content as we build out this library of resources for our families.

You have heard speculation that our current suspension of onsite classes could last through the end of the school year, but this is not a known fact at this time. We will continue to plan for the worst and hope for the best – a return to regular school operations on April 14.  Be assured we will keep you well informed along the way as this situation continues to evolve.

Even shelter in place orders allow for essential educational services like distance learning, meals and the business of paying our bills to continue.  Be assured that you can still arrange to come pick up a homework packet, register your child for school, or participate in our meal service. You can also still reach someone by phone on our school site telephone lines (8 a.m. – 3 p.m.) and district office (8 a.m. – 5 p.m.).
Remember, Monday – Friday through April 3 meals are available between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the following locations:

Walk-up or drive-through meal service will continue through the start of Spring Break (April 3) at the following schools: Clovis, Cole, Fancher Creek, Mickey Cox, Jefferson, Miramonte, Mountain View, Nelson, Pinedale, Sierra Vista, Tarpey, Temperance-Kutner, Valley Oak and Weldon elementary schools, Clark and Kastner intermediate schools, and Buchanan, Clovis West, Clovis East and Clovis North high schools. Meals are available for all children in the community ages 1-18. The child must be present to receive a meal.  Keep in mind that the meals are perishable and must be kept refrigerated. Ingredient and nutrition information for meals are available at or through your school app.
