Upcoming Parent Academy Workshop: Wednesday, March 19! CUSD Professional Learning Center. Dinner Provided & Free Childcare!
Topic: Technology In Our Classrooms and Homes - The New Future!
Technology is everywhere--intertwined in almost every part of our culture. It affects how we live, work, play, and most importantly learn. With various devices becoming an increasing requirement across every industry today, it only makes sense that our schools are also effectively deploying technology in the classroom. CUSD Schools are implementing the latest technology to promote student achievement and engagement. This module will explore how technology is integrated into our classrooms and well as what parents can do to assist at home. We will explore the effects that Social Media plays on our children at home and in school. The internet and technology should be a positive experience for our young people. Unfortunately, our young people can use it in a negative way too. The internet is no longer a safe and enjoyable place for them and instead may become a source of anxiety and fear. We’ll explore the various websites that students’ access each day as well as some of the pitfalls that may occur when our children are not aware of how to navigate these sites.
