One time can take a life: Please talk with your kids today about the dangers of Fentanyl
According to Fresno County law enforcement agencies, as of early May 2021, there were multiple deaths under investigation as possible overdoses resulting from the drug Fentanyl disguised as Xanax.
This statistic highlights a growing danger facing youth in Fresno County, and it’s prompting schools, healthcare and law enforcement agencies to partner together to encourage conversations in your family. While you may receive this information from multiple sources within this partnership, Clovis Unified is sharing the attached message below from law enforcement with all of our families. It includes:
- Information about the drug
- Overdose symptoms
- Healthcare resources
Fentanyl is being sold online by private providers and delivered to homes throughout our community. It’s readily available to people of all ages. Even just a tiny amount of the drug can kill your child.
Parents are encouraged to read a March 2021 Parent Bulletin produced by Clovis Unified on the subject of Fentanyl here
Please take a minute to look at the data, talk with your kids, and share this information with others.
