Join us for CUSD's Black History Month Virtual Celebration in its first year held online and open to all of Clovis Unified and the community.
For 13 years, Buchanan High's African American Student Union held a Black History Month assembly featuring student performances. This year, needing to move the celebration online due to gathering restrictions, planners saw the opportunity to reach out and include students from all five Clovis Unified high schools in the celebration. There will also be students featured from two intermediate and two elementary schools.
The theme this year is "Awakening the Strength of Our Culture," and the event is 100% student driven. Students will be moderating each performance, which will include poems, songs and dances by students. The event will be about an hour.
