Book: Chapter 7
7.01 Linear Equations
Objective: To graph linear equations
in two variables. To graph linear equations using intercepts.
Narration: Equations whose graphs
are lines are linear equations.

7.02 Slope
Objective: To find the slope of a
line given two points on the line.
Narration: Slope is a ratio of the
change in y-values compared to the change in the x-values. Some
people refer to this as rise over run.

7.03 Equations and Slope
Objective: To find the slope of a
line from an equation.
Narration: An equation y = mx + b
is called the slope-intercept equation of a line. The
slope is the m and the y-intercept is b.
Assignment: page 326: #1 10, 19
24, 28 34
7.04 Finding an Equation of a Line
Objective: To write an equation of
a line using the slope-intercept equation. To write an equation
of a line using the point-slope equation.
Narration: The slope-intercept
method uses y = mx + b, and we substitute values in for the
slope and one set of coordinate points in for the x and y. The
point-slope method uses y y1
= m(x x1)

18, 23 - 26
7.05 Parallel/Perpendicular
Objective: To determine if the
graphs of two equations are parallel or perpendicular.
Narration: If two lines are
parallel, they have equal slopes. If two lines are
perpendicular, the slope of one line is the negative reciprocal
of the other line.

assignment)
7.07 SET
Objective: To develop reasoning
skills
Narration: The more frequently you
play this game, the faster you will develop your mathematical
reasoning skills!
Assignment: Continue to play the
game of SET at least twice per week. Continue to record your
time on your Excel spreadsheet and email it to your teacher each
week.
7.08 Self Test
Objective: For you to complete the
self test with a perfect score.
Narration: Complete the self test
which is a review of the concepts you learned in this lesson
before you take the Module Test.

Assignment: Email your score to
your teacher.
7.09 Module Test
Your teacher will let you know how you can
complete this test.
