What is it?
AP courses offer a challenging and stimulating educational experience for college-bound students. When compared to other high school courses, AP courses often take more time, require substantial effort, and provide an excellent opportunity for individual growth and accomplishment. Students learn essential time management and study skills often needed for college and career success. Research shows that students who take and succeed in AP courses are much more likely than their peers to complete a college degree on time. Placement into these courses require excellent grades and history of strong work ethic. Students who take an AP Course in Clovis Unified will receive a “weighted” grade for courses (C or better) which can elevate their overall GPA.

What to Know
- You must pass the AP Exam in May (score of 3,4,5, depending on college)\
- Some colleges only accept certain scores or exams (see AP Credit Policy Search )
- CUSD has 28 approved AP Courses. Offerings vary at school sites and are not necessarily offered every year.
- There is currently a fee of approximately $102 per exam due to College Board. (Fee waivers available for students that qualify as socio-economically disadvantaged and can apply through Parent Connect).

2025 AP Exam Dates -
What is It?
“Enrichment” is a term used in this case to reference taking community college courses during summer or during the school year while still a high school student. Beginning the summer before the freshman year, students can take 1 or 2 enrichment courses each semester (summer, fall, spring).
Who can Participate?
Students in high school with their counselor’s approval.
Why Take it?
- Build your college transcript early
Due to the independent effort required to register and be successful in these classes, students must be intrinsically motivated and driven. Enrollment fees for these courses are waived, but students will have to purchase college textbooks. Transportation Is not provided and students do not receive high school credit for enrichment courses.
To qualify for enrichment, students must be on track for graduation. High school students must be enrolled in a full schedule at their high school site.

What is it?
CCCAP students take two pre-identified transferable courses per semester at the Clovis Community College Campus (either International-main campus or Herndon sites). Students who successfully complete all four courses will earn 12 general education (GE) college credits and 20 high school elective credits. Classes are held on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday afternoons from 1 pm to 3 pm. Bus transportation is provided. Courses offered are limited to four specific classes:
- Art 2- Art Appreciation
- Psychology 2- General Psychology
- History 2 – Western Civilization to 1648 or History 1- Western Civilization from 1648
- Sociology 1A – Introduction to Sociology.

How to Enroll:
- To qualify students must meet the following requirements:
- Senior on-track for graduation with a 2.5 GPA or above
- Approval from parents, principal and high school counselor
- Must be enrolled in 4 classes at their high school
- Interested students must complete the CCCAP Packet and submit an Online application making sure to select “HS Enrichment”. Students should see their counselor for more clarification.

What is It?
Dual Enrollment programs allows qualified high school students to earn college and high school credits at the same time while still attending high school. These courses are typically offered at the high school campus and taught by a high school instructor as part of a formal agreement between the college and high school.
Current Courses that receive Dual Enrollment/Dual Credit
- Career Technical Education (CTE) Courses are offered Dual Enrollment through Reedley College, Clovis Community College, Fresno City College and Butte College.
- CART has Dual Enrollment partnerships with local Community Colleges and Fresno State.
- Qualified students placed in Rhetoric and Composition at any of our high schools can receive English 1A credit from Clovis Community College.

The Uni-track Program at California State University, Fresno allows dual enrollment for high school students, who can earn college credit while in an approved Uni-track course. Students can request a Fresno State Transcript upon completion of the coursework. High School and CTE teachers are eligible to apply to participate in the Uni-track program. There are minimal student fees for these courses.
Students in a Uni-track course will earn college credit, as long as they receive a grade of C or better in the class, which will be documented on a Fresno State transcript. Students must pay per Uni-track course and may not take more than two courses per semester (prices will be changing over the next 3 years). Grades earned become part of a student’s permanent academic record.
Requirements for Uni-track Students
- Students may register for up to 8 units (2 courses) of academic credit per term. No student will be approved for additional units.
- Students must have a junior or senior standing at the high school.
- Students cannot earn both course credit and AP exam credit when they attend Fresno State. Students who plan to attend other colleges should inquire whether or not they accept Uni-track credit, as institutions vary in their acceptance policies. Some students may pay a reduced fee for Uni-Track courses. Please speak with your Uni-Track teacher or high school counselor to see if you qualify and for further information. The Uni-Track program at CSU Fresno has undergone changes, please contact your high school counselor for current coursework offerings.
