- All benefitted employees receive a Direct Contracting ID card via mail
- When using Direct Contract imaging providers, benefitted employees & their dependents will have their copays, deductibles, and pre-authorizations waived on the services received
- In order to receive the Direct Contract benefits, members must present their Direct Contracting ID card in lieu of the Blue Shield ID Card
- Failure to present the Direct Contract ID Card will result in the member(s) receiving the benefit of a waived copay, deductible, and waived pre-authorization and will be billed as if they visited a non-Direct Contract location
- Digital Direct Contracting ID Cards are also available through the myHNAS online portal or mobile application; see flyer under CUSD Benefit Plans Resources for additional instructions

- Yes – all existing Tandem PPO network providers are still available to utilize, but members will only receive the waived copay, deductibles, and waived pre-authorization benefit when utilizing a Direct Contracted provider

- If a member has dual coverage & CUSD does not serve as the primary insurance (e.g., Medicare or a dual-covered spouse with employer serving as primary), the member should continue to use primary coverage & present the Direct Contracting ID Card to be used as secondary coverage for imaging services
- Providing the Direct Contracting ID card still provides members with the best overall cost savings to the Health Plan
- If a member has dual coverage & CUSD does not serve as the primary insurance (e.g., Medicare or a dual-covered spouse with employer serving as primary), the member should continue to use primary coverage & present the Direct Contracting ID Card to be used as secondary coverage for imaging services
