Using Student Thinking in Mathematics Classrooms

Course Description

This video explores student thinking in mathematics. Using student thinking through classroom discussions is tremendously valuable because it allows students to describe and evaluate strategies, make conjectures, and make sense of mathematics. As students listen to their peers they learn that there are multiple ways to approach problems and gain knowledge and other strategies that may be more efficient. As teachers, we must allow opportunities for students to share their strategies and collaborate with one another.
