Community Advisory Committee (CAC)

The goal of the CUSD Community Advisory Committee (CAC) is to raise community awareness about the needs of students and their families regarding Special Education Programs; to actively review the Local Plan for Special Education; and to provide a forum that facilitates parent communication with other parents and with the school district. The CAC shall provide information, training, and resources to help ensure that quality programs educate the student with special needs in mind, body, and spirit.

In addition, the CAC sponsors two annual events, the "Exceptional Person Awards" ceremony and the "Student Voices" luncheon.

The "Exceptional Person Awards" ceremony recognizes individuals within Clovis Unified School District who have worked hard to support and encourage students with special needs.

The "Student Voices" luncheon is an interesting and heartfelt event opportunity for CUSD students who have an IEP to share their experiences in high school. These students talk about their highs and lows and also give advice to incoming freshman.

See the CAC calendar for event dates and times.
