Clovis Assessment System for Sustained Improvement, CLASSI, has been the district’s self-accountability system since 1994. It looks at indicators based in three areas: Student Achievement, Comprehensive Site Management and Cultural Proficiency to determine yearly recipients achieving at high standards in all three areas.

Alta Sierra Intermediate: Fourth consecutive year earning Athletic Supremacy Award
Boris Elementary: Chronic absenteeism dropped by 4%
Buchanan High: Impact Team organized monthly food pickups for CUSD families
Bud Rank Elementary: 95% student attendance rate – among Top 3 highest in CUSD
Clovis Adult: Graduated 47 vocational nurses and 96 nurse assistants
Cedarwood Elementary: State scores grew 9% in ELA, 4% in Math
Center for Advanced Research and Technology: 93% of CUSD CART students said CART prepared them for college and career
Century Elementary: Students wrote letters to local senior citizens
Clark Intermediate: Implemented AVID strategies schoolwide

Fugman Elementary: Annual Turkey Trot collected 5,000-plus cans of food for local families
Garfield Elementary: Raised more than $4,000 for the American Heart Association
Gateway High: Students built bicycles for CUSD elementary schools
Gettysburg Elementary: Raised funds for water filtration system for village in Thailand
Granite Ridge Intermediate: Math Counts team won 1st Place in the Valley
Hirayama Elementary: Opened as Clovis Unified’s 35th elementary school with 450 students and 18 teachers
Jefferson Elementary: The Jefferson Food Pantry provided food to families across CUSD
Kastner Intermediate: More than 200 students showed growth of 100 points or more on ELA or Math SBAC assesment
Liberty Elementary: Ranked No. 1 among CUSD Elementary Schools in ELA and Math
Lincoln Elementary: Donated the most items in Clovis West Area Canned Food Drive
Maple Creek Elementary: Earned the CA Civic and Learning Award for 9th consecutive year
Mickey Cox Elementary: “Souper Bowl” event collected 13,813 items to donate to the Poverello

Nelson Elementary: Rebranding with new athletic and academic uniforms, creating a college-mentality of competition and community pride
Oraze Elementary: 900 students received “Words Matter” shirts as part of a grant initiative promoting kindness
Pinedale Elementary: Two track athletes earned district championship titles
Reagan Elementary: Donated 200 gifts to nearby elementary school for students in need
Red Bank Elementary: The Ambassadors for Kindness collected 500+ stuffed animals for LA fire victims
Reyburn Intermediate: SJVCGPR Percussion Champions; six students accepted to All-State Choir
Riverview Elementary: Raised funds for Exceptional Parents Unlimited
Sierra Outdoor School: The Clovis Unified science camp hosted 12,679 campers, taught 3,083 classes and made 65,202 meals
Sierra Vista Elementary: Boys Basketball District Champions
Tarpey Elementary: All 652 students created the Tarpey IDAC Diversity Quilt
Temperance-Kutner Elementary: Co-curricular participation doubled
Terry P. Bradley Educational Center: 400-plus construction crew members worked daily building the home of Phillip V. Sanchez Intermediate and Clovis South High
Valley Oak Elementary: Won the Clovis West Area Science Fair
Weldon Elementary: Students completed 33,963 reading lessons and 23,283 math lessons in iReady
Woods Elementary: Recognized as California Distinguished School
Young Elementary: First-ever Young student to be a district champion (wrestling)

Support Team

Clovis Unified departments strive for excellence, efficiency and effectiveness as they ensure our sites and staff have what they need to support student success. Campus Catering: 5.37M meals served
CTE: 4,000-plus students enrolled, surpassing pre-COVID numbers

Human Resources: Processed the hiring of 170 new teachers and 1,000-plus classified employees
Nursing Services: 477,202 student health office visits
Police: Lexipol Bronze Star Award
Print Shop: 85,000 feet of signs printed (that’s equal to 285 football fields!)
Purchasing: 17,147 purchase orders processed

Special Education: 600 new students on IEPs welcomed
Student Services & School Attendance: 7,331 transfers processed
Technology: 50,000 Chromebooks supported across 50+ district sites
Transportation: 6,987 daily passengers
VAPA: 300+ students earned national, state and county awards
Warehouse: 617,000 items processed, with weekly deliveries to 60+ sites
