The Elementary Division of the Custodial Department consists of one Manager, two Area Supervisors, thirty-five Plant Managers, and seventy custodians. Our School Plant Supervisors are responsible for the care, maintenance and supervision of the school site facility to which they are assigned. The custodial staff is responsible for the daily cleaning of all school site classrooms, libraries, administrative and other office areas, as well as the daily sanitation of all restrooms.

Happenings
Our Plant Supervisors love getting involved with our student activities.  Most recently our Plant Supervisor Michael Delgado at Garfield Elementary made a deal with the students along with the GIS Jonathan Slater to put on a hamster ball race(equip with hamster costumes and all) if they reached the school’s jog-a-thon fundraising goal.  The top earners got to steer the balls through an obstacle course set up on the field.

Manager's Moment

As we welcome more than 43,000 students back from their summer break, the smell of Fall is in the air.  The 2018-2019 school year has officially begun.  All of our Elementary school sites were ready to go and looking great for the first day of school.  Our District Administration has reported back to us in Plant Operations, communicating to us that we had one of our most successful openings in recent memory.

Summer was busy!  As our crews worked hard preparing our school sites for the coming school year, we took care of our summer school programs and helped to support the many deferred maintenance projects, along with a couple of site modernization projects, that took place throughout the District this summer.  The good news is, that all that we set out to accomplish was completed on time and our school sites were ready for the return of staff and students by the first day of school.
