“Improving Student Achievement for All Clovis Kids”
Each year, CUSD creates the Annual Census Data Report. The information is created from data collected from the CUSD Technology Department’s CSIS System and reflects the number of English Learners in Clovis Unified School District on March 1st of each year. This annual report is submitted to California Department of Education and drives all funding relating to serving our English Learners and services we are able to offer our English learners. CUSD currently serves 1827 EL Students with over 39 languages.
The Language Census is an annual data collection administered in March that collects the following data elements: number of English learner (EL) students (formerly known as limited English-proficient [LEP]) and fluent English-proficient (FEP) students in California public schools (kindergarten through grade twelve) by grade and primary language other than English; number of EL students enrolled in specific instructional settings or services by type of setting or service; number of students reclassified from EL to FEP from the prior year; number of parental waivers submitted and granted; and the number of staff providing instructional services to EL students.
